Ear Mitts Review

Glittery Black Ear Mitts

Product Description:

Unlike the other ear warmers we’ve reviewed which feature a connecting band that wraps around the back of your neck, Ear Mitts Bandless Ear Muffs from SG Marketing, Inc. (as the name implies) don’t have a band at all.  Instead, the mitts hang directly onto the top and back of each ear.

Each “mitt” basically consists of a padded polypropylene frame wrapped in a covering made of polyester fleece and 3M Thinsulate insulation, which has super-fine fibers to make the Ear Mitts warm while still thin and lightweight.  And of course, not having a band also makes the Ear Mitts the more pocketable than anything else we’ve reviewed.

American Alternative Review:

SG Marketing, Inc. was founded (1986) and is still headquartered in Dallas, Texas.  Ear Mitts were also developed there.  Unfortunately though, the polypropylene frame and the polyester fleece lining are manufactured and assembled into finished goods in Taiwan out of all Asian-sourced materials, including the 3M Thinsulate insulation.

1.5/5 stars*

Ear Mitts come in tons of colors with tons of possible crazy decorations ranging from monogramming to embedded Swarovski crystals.  You can look at several of them here (including the glittery ones in the main picture).  You can also see how Ear Mitts compares to the rest of the ear warmers we reviewed and whether or not there are any more American-made options at our category recap.

*Note that the final American Alternative score for Ear Mitts only takes into account the design, engineering, parts, and processes involved in manufacturing and distributing standard Ear Mitts.  It does not consider the source of Swarovski crystals.
